Welcome to the UAM Action Network

Universal American, through our family of healthcare companies, offers benefit plans designed to promote collaboration among our members and their healthcare professionals. We sponsor Prescription Drug and Medicare Advantage Plans for the Medicare market.

The UAM Action Network, a project of Universal American, is a collaboration of members, agents, friends, family, and employees working together to protect the Medicare Advantage Program. We all must work together to preserve Medicare Advantage in the Healthcare Reform Package. The 11 million Medicare beneficiaries who choose to receive their health care benefits through Medicare Advantage Plans face reductions in benefits and increases in costs if the healthcare reform bills before Congress become law without changes.

Take Action to Stop Medicare Physician Payment Cuts
Take Action to Preserve Medicare Advantage

Research demonstrates that selected Medicare Advantage plans have reduced hospitalizations and readmission rates for beneficiaries with diabetes and heart disease. By reducing the need for hospitalization and emergency room care, private plans are not only improving the health and well-being of Medicare beneficiaries – but also achieving cost savings. We are extremely concerned that the Healthcare reform bills, in their current form, will negatively impact our members by cutting funds available to them. This will result in less generous benefits for our members and greater member costs for needed services.

We continue to support health care reform efforts that help our members.
